"REBIRTH" A common them in many spiritual and religious beliefs. Here it is represented by several elements. The lotus in her left hand is from the east, where it symbolizes rebith, and the Buddha Padmasambhava was said to be born from one. The cauldron in her right hand is from the Celtic stories of the Cauldron of Rebirth which was given to King Branwen and could bring the dead to life. The serpent, with it's shedding of it's skin, is thought by many to symbolize rebirth. Finally the moon, with it's monthly disappearance and regrowth to full, is a celestial symbol of rebirth.
