BUCKINGHAM FOUNTAIN:
At the center of Grant Park is the beautiful Buckingham Fountain. It is shut off during the fall and winter, but during the spring and summer it flows for most of the day, with a special display every hour on the hour for 20 minutes. During the day, a large jet of water shoots out the top, and during the evening hours, it is lit up in a fabulous colorful display. When the fountain was donated, a fund was set up to cover the costs of running it and upkeep.
